Nathan Dietz, Ph.D., is the Research Director at the Do Good Institute (DGI) and a Research Professor in the School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park. His research with DGI focuses on social capital, volunteering, charitable contributions, civic engagement and social entrepreneurship. Dr. Dietz currently leads a multidisciplinary team of university researchers who are providing evaluation services to the State of Maryland’s Department of Service and Civic Innovation. He recently led externally funded research projects on strategic volunteer engagement and the social determinants of generosity. His recent publications include articles in peer-reviewed journals such as Nonprofit Management and Leadership, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, the American Journal of Community Psychology, and Nonprofit Policy Forum.
