Jean M. McGloin is a Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice and the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS) at the University of Maryland. From 2020-2024, she was the BSOS Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Education. Jean received her Ph.D. and M.A. in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University-Newark. She earned an A.B., summa cum laude, from Bryn Mawr College. Her research interests generally focus on group processes, including peer influence, co-offending, street gangs, and collective behavior. Jean was named a Fellow of the American Society of Criminology in 2024, and she served as the (Co) Editor of the Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency from 2017-2022.
