Randi Chmielewski, Rita Allen FoundationRandi Chmielewski serves in the role of Strategic Engagement at the Rita Allen Foundation, where she helps accelerate transformative ideas and breakthrough solutions by engaging partners, managing organizational systems, and advancing emergent projects. As a senior member of the Foundation’s mission-driven team, she works across Rita Allen’s three investment domains: Discovery Science, Civic Science, and Philanthropic Lab and Future Exploration. Before joining the Foundation, she served as Chief of Staff at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University, where her portfolio included communications, operations, events, as well as leading cross-functional teams and managing organizational transitions. While at Eagleton, she played a key role in developing new initiatives, including the interdisciplinary Science and Politics Initiative and fellowships for Ph.D. scientists in New Jersey state government; a Redistricting internship program connecting students with nonprofit partners to provide technical mapmaking support for fair representation; and a Washington internship award program that opened opportunities for outstanding Rutgers students to access national networks. Additionally, during her tenure, she co-taught undergraduate courses on talking politics across differences and political campaigning and coordinated a naturalization assistance program in collaboration with Rutgers Law School. Randi previously served as special assistant to Mayor Jun Choi in Edison Township, New Jersey, and holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and an M.P.A. from New York University.
